Since 1711 Handel’s operas had enthusiastic receptions. Amadigi di Gaula was inspired by a text written by the French Antoine Houdar de la Motte. In despite of Destouches had already composed music around this text sixteen years before, Handel wrote one of his luminous and powerfull operas. Three centuries later, for his first album with Ambroisie, Eduardo Lopez Banzo with his colourful orchestra Al Ayre Español recorded the generous and intimate atmosphere that lives in wonderful world of Handel’s opera.

Since 1711 Handel’s operas had enthusiastic receptions. Amadigi di Gaula was inspired by a text written by the French Antoine Houdar de la Motte « Amadis de Grèce ». Destouches had already composed music around this text sixteen years before Handel.
Three centuries later, for his first albulm with Ambroisie, Eduardo Lopez Banzo with his colourful orchestra Al Ayre Espanol recorded the generous arias, the intimate atmosphere and the wonderful text of Handel’s opera. Eduardo Lopez Banzo will release a second album in 2008 with Ambroisie: Rodrigo by Handel. |
