Composed at about the same time as Saul, Israel in Egypt, a magnificent choral oratorio, is one of the most outstanding works of George Frideric Handel. Israel in Egypt, which in expression ranges from the sorrowful lament to the festive, triumphant rejoicing of the Israelites, is here presented in a complete recording in the three-part form as it was originally conceived by Handel.
